First Street Plaza is the pedestrian heart of a revitalized downtown that connects people with shopping and dining and serves as a festive area for gatherings and concerts or a peaceful area to stop and rest. The plaza’s design reflects nature with a sense of flying birds and a flowing river. In-grade LED color changing pavers are programmed to flow like a river. Custom light towers support mesh birds illuminated with color changing LED fixtures that are concealed in the tower’s arms and are programmed to give the illusion of flying. The plaza culminates dramatically at the Peace Fountain.

The lighting design provides pedestrian safety and visual excitement using energy efficient solutions. The fixtures are easily maintained and allow illumination color to be changed for various holidays or events.
