The Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts
Minneapolis, MN
The Cowles Center For Dance & The Performing Arts, formerly known as The Minnesota Shubert Arts and Education Center, combines four building elements into a center for the arts with an emphasis on dance performance.
The existing Hennepin Center for the Arts, formerly a Masonic Temple, currently houses dance companies, performance spaces and related entities. It is connected to the existing historic Shubert Theatre via an atrium building.
The Shubert Theatre house was redesigned into a 510-seat theatre with all new technical systems and finishes.
The stage house provides needed stage wings and fly space to accommodate an ambitious performance schedule of music, dance, drama, and events.
