The Cowles Center For Dance & The Performing Arts, formerly known as The Minnesota Shubert Arts and Education Center, combines four building elements into a new center for the arts with an emphasis on dance performance.

The existing Hennepin Center for the Arts, formerly a Masonic Temple, currently houses dance companies, performance spaces and related entities. It will be connected to the existing historic Shubert Theatre via a new atrium building.

The Shubert Theatre house was redesigned into a 510-seat theatre with all new technical systems and finishes.
