At the heart of the center is a 600-seat auditorium designed to be inclusive and adaptable. The stage includes a custom-built orchestra shell that can be reconfigured quickly to suit a variety of performance types. Integrated AV and technical systems ensure the venue is fully equipped for a wide range of uses.
Ruyton Girls School
Kew, VIC
Schuler Shook provided theatre planning, AV design, and specialist lighting for the new Performing Arts Centre at Ruyton Girls’ School.
Working in close collaboration with Hayball and Sally Draper Architects, we helped deliver a highly flexible performance space that supports music, drama, assemblies, and campus events.
Our specialist lighting design extends beyond the theatre spaces, enhancing circulation areas, foyers, façades, and landscaped zones to support both functional and aesthetic goals. Working in close collaboration with the architectural team, we’ve developed integrated lighting solutions that respond to the building’s form, materials, and public character — contributing to a cohesive and inviting atmosphere across the entire campus, day and night.
