The St. Paul Riverfront Corporation, in cooperation with the City of St. Paul envisioned the transformation of an existing surface parking lot into a welcoming pedestrian environment. The primary architectural element of the park is a limestone retaining wall extending along the entire length.
Landmark Plaza
St. Paul, MN
The Landmark Plaza is a public park with an abundance of green grass, native trees and plants that reconnects downtown St. Paul to the Mississippi River. This $4.2 million project helped the city’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the area and bring new life into downtown St. Paul, rehabilitating 27,000 square feet of aged commercial space. The park currently displays the Charles M. Schulz memorial sculptures and hosts a variety of outdoor events, festivals and concerts.
The lighting design encompasses custom posts with refracting rings to create an inviting space, while custom LED strip lights integrate into a reveal to graze the low limestone walls with warm light. The custom lighting controller allow a specific color temperature to be achieved.
