A large mezzanine provides dedicated audio, video and lighting control overlooking the theatre. The addition also included a new orchestra rehearsal room, instrument storage area and music practice rooms to complement the existing band and choral rehearsal rooms.

Grand Forks Public Schools built a new 700-seat proscenium theatre with lobby, scene shop, dressing rooms and support space as an addition to the existing Red River High School.
Schuler Shook and Perkins + Will collaborated on the initial performing arts master plan and were joined by EAPC Architects and Engineers when the Red River project advanced into design. The Schuler Shook scope included overall space planning for the new stage and auditorium, seating and sightline analysis, stage rigging, curtains, orchestra pit platforms, theatrical lighting system design and specifications. The new performance venue is used frequently during the school year for a wide variety of music and drama performances, and is a primary venue for the Summer Performing Arts program
