The Warwick Rittenhouse was redesigned with contemporary sophistication and is one of the city’s most iconic historic hotels. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the hotel was formerly named the Radisson Blue Warwick hotel and was Radisson Blu’s first renovated property in the United States.
The lighting design created a stunning impact throughout the hotel, where contemporary aesthetics meet and compliment neoclassical architecture.
Energy efficiency and ease of maintenance solutions primarily utilized LED lighting sources. An astronomical time clock dimming control system provides automated energy savings control and gradual time of day transition settings for all interior and exterior public space lighting.
The lobby’s massive glass revolving door is highlighted with integral blue downlights. Large pendant clusters were swagged to reinforce furniture groupings without damage to historic cornice features. Monorail and monopoint fixtures were used to accent art walls and floor features without recessing into historically protected surfaces.
The registration desk foyer is dramatized with pools of LED downlight. Blue LED accent lighting creates dramatic portals to the lobby space.
Guest room corridors reused existing lighting locations retrofitted with new multiple lamp fixtures to highlight wall art, guest door entries and pathways without disturbing historic plaster surfaces.
Guest rooms utilized warm color tone, energy efficient sources for a comfortable guest experience.
Energy efficient and maintenance friendly fluorescent mirror and LED downlights were used in guest bathrooms.
The building’s exterior white light slowly comes alive with electric blue highlights as the evening progresses, using custom modified LED uplighting that was integrated in the existing exterior structure in compliance with historic feature limitations. The dramatic interior lighting is revealed through the exterior windows.
