The Intercontinental is a stellar hotel connected to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport. Arriving at the hotel, visitors experience bars of light accentuating the chevron exterior window façade along with a welcoming glowing entry wall. The lobby transforms from a bright daylit space to a rich space with colorful accents and highlighted areas. A clean and integrated lighting approach provides a comfortable yet energetic environment for weary travelers and local events, dinners, and meetings.
The lighting is integrated into the architecture, enhancing the contemporary and elegant design throughout the hotel. The lighting design scope included the lobby desk, entry vestibule, elevators, board room, pre-function area, and ballroom. Additionally, specialty lighting design was provided for the lounge, feature stairs, penthouse suite, restaurant, art features, spa, pool, entry port cochere, roof deck, facade lighting. A lighting review was provided for typical guest rooms and corridors.
