Confidential Client, Salt Lake City Office

Salt Lake City, UT

With the Wasatch Mountains in view through full-height glazing, this international law firm sought an office design that paid homage to the natural beauty of Salt Lake City.

An open, four-story interconnecting stair is backed by a series of vertical metal rods” encased in dark-colored tubes of varying lengths, reminiscent of the surrounding mountains. Uplights and downlights graze the anodized aluminum tubes.

No additional lighting was required to provide sufficient light levels for navigating the stair.

Lights placed at the top, bottom and middle of this four-floor work of art softly illuminate the warm wood-wrapped stair.

The lighting solution is both beautiful and functional.

Working closely with the architect, Schuler Shook provided lighting design for multiple space types across three office floors and the conference center floor. Grazing light along the deep green back wall in the cafe creates visual interest at the banquette seating.

Uplighting was used throughout the corridors and the elevator lobby to provide indirect light.

Cantilevered fixtures illuminate the art displayed in the corridors.

Lighting design scope included office work stations, amenity and collaboration spaces, golf simulation room, and elevator lobbies.
