The one-acre green space is located underneath existing highway bridges. Color- changing LED fixtures up-light the bridge structure with a nightly show and unique effects for holidays and to celebrate local sports teams. Tree accents, string lights, mural lighting, and poles with aimable spotlights illuminate the rest of the green and punctuate the pedestrian pathways.
Northloop Green 360
Minneapolis, MN
Situated in Minneapolis’ North Loop Neighborhood, the property is adjacent to the Twins baseball stadium and two train stations. This mixed-use property includes an office tower, a residential tower, multiple food and beverage offerings, and a large public green space. Schuler Shook provided lighting design for the green, all exterior areas, both lobbies, and amenity spaces for both the office and residential towers.
The lighting for the residential lobby and residential amenity spaces is warm and inviting with an emphasis on unique decorative fixtures, discrete general illumination, and accents to illuminate specific architectural details and wall surfaces. Shared private dining areas, game rooms, and outdoor terraces on the upper floors provide views in to the stadium and elegant softly lit spaces for residents to hold private gatherings. The soft wood tones of the office lobby and office amenity spaces are illuminated to create inviting spaces for meetings, working out of the office, or special events. At the 1st floor elevator lobby a large feature of back lit luminous panels on the wall and ceiling creates a vibrant transition from the lobby to private areas on the upper floors. An outdoor pool, a gym, and spa are shared amenities between the two towers. The soft indirect lighting of the gym and spa create unique spaces for residents and office workers to step away from home or office. The sleek lighting in the pool area provides an elegant atmosphere for events, as well as safety for nighttime swimmers.
