New fountains, landscaping, and colored lighting effects take the project beyond a simple entryway and impart a lux impression similar to Las Vegas venues. A large central fountain and illuminated cove is the new focal point.
Donald E. Stephens Convention Center
Rosemont, IL
More than 1,000,000 visitors pass through this covered circle drive on their way into the Donald E. Stephens Convention and Conference Center each year. This first impression for visitors must be welcoming and memorable, so our team’s goal was to replace the existing dark and uninviting lighting scheme with a positive approach to this important arrival point.
The renovation included providing new recessed ceramic metal halide lensed downlights for general illumination. Fixtures are located so that they also illuminate the perimeter wall. Due to better optics and strategic placement, fewer replacement fixtures are used while still providing appropriate lighting levels and consuming less energy than the previous lighting scheme.
