Lighting Specialist

Peter W. Mitchell comes to Schuler Shook with over 15 years of theatrical lighting design experience. He has worked in theatre, opera, dance, and live events ranging from Off-Broadway, National Tours, Regional Opera & Theatre, New York & International Dance, Virtual Reality Film, and Corporate Events.

Peter has taught Lighting Design as a guest lecturer at NYU’s Design for Stage & Film MFA Program and NYU’s MFA Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. He values collaboration and communication in the design process, and specializes in drawing, rendering, and drafting to take concept to reality.

Theatrical projects prior to joining Schuler Shook include: Lighting Design for Odyssey, Trouble in Tahiti and Scalia/Ginsburg at the Glimmerglass Festival (Cooperstown, NY), Odyssey at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY), and Circles at the Gelsey Kirkland Dance Center (Brooklyn, NY). Associate Lighting Design for Aida at the LA Opera, Washington National Opera/Kennedy Center, and Seattle Opera; Porgy & Bess at the Cincinnati Opera and Fort Worth Opera; and West Side Story at the Houston Grand Opera and Glimmerglass Festival.
