Jessica Edwards
Theatre Specialist
Chicago
With over fifteen years of stage and event management experience, Jessica comes to Schuler Shook with a deep understanding of the intersection of artistic development and production practicalities.
Having worked in a variety of venues, including Broadway houses, regional theatres, convention centers, and more, she understands how people move through and utilize these spaces.
She is passionate about health and safety in the arts and feels strongly that the best work comes from artists who feel safe and supported throughout their journey. As a Health and Safety Supervisor for Disney Theatrical group, she oversaw the COVID Safety program implemented across five domestic productions, including two Broadway productions and three national tours. This experience reminded her of the intimate relationship between an artist and their work, and it affirmed her desire to ensure that safety practices are the foundation of every element of live event production.
Outside of work, she acts as Director of Operations and resident stage manager for Black Cat Theatre, a queer-founded storefront theatre on the north side of Chicago. She enjoys reading, attempting to teach herself how to crochet, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends.
