Sanjana Adavi

Lighting Design Intern

Sanjana is an active and engaged student of lighting design, entering her fifth year this fall in the Integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering (B.A.E./M.A.E.) program in the Lighting/Electrical option at Penn State University.

She has been elected to serve as Vice President of the Penn State chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society in the upcoming year and has served as the Director of Professional Relations for the chapter. She is also a student member of the International Association of Lighting Designers.

Sanjana is a Research Assistant studying the implementation of ethics education in the AE curriculum, and is also an Advising Assistant helping younger peers with scheduling.

She appreciates how a wide range of factors in architectural lighting design can blend to create inspiring spaces, adding to the positive impact that the built environment can have.

“I have been enjoying exploring the various challenges that can arise with different types of architectural projects. I am looking forward to continue working on unique projects that require creative lighting solutions.”
