Work closely with all team members for daily helpdesk support, maintenance, and training both locally and in our remote offices
Help support our local IT infrastructure
Make suggestions for software to help us do our work
Train our staff to maximize their use of the software packages we own
You will work directly with our IT Manager. This is an ideal working environment for a collaborative person with a technical aptitude who enjoys challenges and providing user support. This is a part-time position located in either Chicago or Dallas. We can be flexible about hours and days that you work. Wage range: $25 - $30/hour.
Due to COVID-19, we are working remotely at this time. You would not be working from our office.
Responsibilities
Take part in Schuler Shook’s new hire trainings, instructing new users on IT policies and access management.
Support/troubleshoot Windows-based laptops, workstations, and Mac mobile devices and related systems.
Handle staff requests regarding computer set up and needs and provide follow-up to the user to verify their understanding of how the equipment and software function.
Respond to daily user requests/issues/assignments and document progress and resolution within the company service request ticketing and tracking system
Solve routine computer system problems such as network login, printers, equipment failures, missing files, software operation, and customization questions, virus reports, basic technical support of Skype (soon to be Teams) phone systems, mobile devices, and audio/visual systems
Install or assist in the installation and operation of new or revised releases of programs on Windows PCs and laptops such as Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, MS Office and Office 365, and mobile devices (including but not limited to Apple iPhones, iPads, and Android OS based devices).
Provide system and application maintenance and troubleshooting, in coordination with the IT Manager
Assist in the configuration of PC machines and infrastructure equipment
Help maintain remote offices, including network and phone systems
Assist local and remote staff with software packages and programs
Run training sessions on Office 365 apps and related software
Inventory and keep accurate records of software, licenses, equipment, life cycles and expiration dates
Prepare equipment for disposal that is no longer serviceable
Complete necessary and accurate documentation of work performed
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Associates degree in an IT related program or four years of equivalent work experience supporting desktop computers in a business environment
Significant experience with Microsoft Office suite of products
Demonstrate exceptional hands-on and phone customer service skills allowing for a positive customer service experience with end-users involving each IT Service Desk request/incident handled
Communicate effectively (written and orally) with users, management and external vendors
Familiarity with desktop or server operating systems, various software applications, and PC hardware
Working knowledge of operating systems in a networked environment
Understanding of mobile device configuration and support. (iOS, Android)
Effective problem solving & critical thinking skills
The successful candidate must be able to display a professional and positive demeanor. A+ certification and MCSA certification or equivalent experience preferred. Experience with Datto PSA helpful. Basic knowledge of audio/video systems, and VOIP phones is preferred. Other experience preferred includes supporting a diverse user base in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, as our office uses Office 365.
