The Kinkaid School
Piney Point, TX, USA
The Kinkaid School required their performing arts complex to combine the most graceful aesthetics with the best production and instruction facilities possible - all in a manner that would complement the existing architecture on the school campus. Theatre consulting services for this new $15.5 million K-12 performing arts building involved planning, design and coordination for two separate theatre spaces, a dance studio, music rehearsal and practice rooms, scenery and costume shops, and performer support spaces including a suite of dressing rooms and a green room.
Schuler Shook provided auditorium planning and equipment integration services for Morris*Architects, as well as dimming and rigging system designs for both the 730-seat proscenium and 200-seat black box theatres. We also assisted with overall building coordination, particularly as building arrangement and systems design affected performance function.
