Schuler Shook Partner Participates in Project CANDLE
16 Mar 2012

Jim Baney attended the 2012 Project Candle Roundtable hosted at Penn State University March 14-15. Project CANDLE is a partnership to Create an Alliance to Nurture Design in Lighting Education. The partnership includes The Pennsylvania State University, The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) Education Trust, and lighting industry partners like Schuler Shook. Project CANDLE exists to help meet the growing demand for lighting professionals. Designers, professors and lighting manufacturers gather together with college and high school students to share their passion for light and knowledge of what it takes to become a good lighting designer.

Jim joined roundtable members consisting of students, faculty, lighting design professionals and lighting manufacturers for lively discussions covering topics that will affect the future of lighting. Highlights included presentations on lighting research being led by several PhD candidates, a tour of the Penn State Illumination Lab, student-led Pecha Kucha presentations, and an overview of an exciting outreach program to high schools to promote lighting design as a profession.
